Mabel Alabama Pearl McVey (born 20 February 1996) is a Spanish-English singer and songwriter. She had her breakthrough in 2017, with "Finders Keepers" becoming her first UK top 10 single. Her debut studio album, High Expectations is set to be released on 12 July 2019.


McVey's career began in 2015 with her debut single, "Know Me Better".[4] In May 2017, she released "Finders Keepers" featuring British rapper Kojo Funds, which reached the Top 10 of the UK Singles Chart.[5] Later in 2017, she released her debut extended play Bedroom, as well as a mixtape, Ivy to Roses. The singer opened for English singer Harry Styles during the European part of the second leg of a tour in the support of his debut studio album.[6] After her tour with Styles, she embarked on her own headline tour through the United Kingdom and Europe.[7] In 2018, she was featured on "Ring Ring" alongside rapper American Rich the Kid and British DJ Lire la suite" title="Jax Jones">Jax Jones. Later that year, she re-released her mixtape Ivy to Roses with a new cover art, and included songs that had been released since the initial release. In January 2019, McVey was nominated for British Breakthrough Act at the 39th Brit Awards[8] and released "Don't Call Me Up", which debuted at number 11 on the UK Singles Chart. The song peaked at number three, becoming her highest-charting single to date.[9]

Personal life[edit]

Mabel is the daughter of Swedish singer Neneh Cherry and Massive Attack record producer Cameron McVey.[10][11] Her brother is former Mattafix singer Marlon Roudette.[12][13]
